It’s a punchy cut defined by an effortlessly melodic vocal performance, which is underpinned by big, pounding drums and warm, playful synths that aren’t afraid of providing their own unique twists and turns. The accompanying video shows Royer becoming the centre of attention at a party, and ends with her covered in blood, running for her life and wearing a bunny costume… She says: “Instead of clinging tightly to what you perceive as correct – or even real – I think sometimes you just have to turn the lights off and surrender.” Young-Girl Forever is the new album from Sofie Royer.
