‘Black Girl Blues’ is the new track from hip-hop artist Shunaji. Her effortless flow is the first thing you notice as her well-thought-out words wander freely over a soulful accompaniment. This cut is centred on jumpy keyboard chords and tight drums, but features one of Shunaji’s favourite instruments: the trombone. She goes on to explain: “The energy of ‘Black Girl Blues’ is irreverent, fun and wise all at once.
