With ‘Go To Ground’, Sea Fever are getting ever-closer to the release of their second album. This track is an instantly endearing slice of electronic music that takes a variety of influences (Giorgio Moroder in particular) and wraps them up into a neat, Italo Disco-esque slice of modernity. Wobbling syncopations define the instrumentals, before the chorus introduces an anthemic hook. “People can be held back by the system, dulled down and told to stay in their place and this is our call to climb out of the box that people put us in,” they say, on the track’s inspiration. “Positive thinking brought me to Manchester in the first place, grew my self-belief and I’ve always tried to follow this doctrine. Feelings of being lost change to being more certain about who you are and where you are going.” Sea Fever’s second album, Surface Sound, is out on May 30th, 2025, via Cosmic Glue. -Dan Peeke
