Having been beavering away behind the scenes for a little while, South London stalwarts Scrounge announce their forthcoming new album Almost Like You Could with its ripper of a lead track 'Higher'. Providing crucial context via Instagram, the pair note "we pronounce it “hiiiiyaaaa” and its quite the greeting. Opening to foreboding beats, vocalist/guitarist Lucy Cait's grungey guitar parts prop up contemplative verses that explode into claustrophobic instrumental interludes which develop into a noise-driven chorus. Cutting off dead at the end, 'Higher' reels you in and leaves you wanting more (which is a good thing now that we know there will be).
