LIST PICK
ROSIE ALENA BABIES
Songwriter and real life angel Rosie Alena mourns the loss of an idealised forever on 'Babies'. Set over gentle guitar and heart-wrenching strings, Alena's vulnerable lyricism admits difficult truths as she repeatedly swoons 'I'm still thinking of our babies'. She confides: “The idea for ‘Babies’ came when I was detangling myself from a long term romantic relationship. It’s a love song that carries a heavy weight - about someone I knew I couldn’t be with anymore but didn’t want anyone else to have either. Not only was I letting go of the one I loved, but I was having to painfully unravel from what once was our shared imagined future." The third single from her forthcoming EP Everyman follows the comforting nostalgia of 'Loophole' and its equally excellent title track (see List Pick here). Set for release on the 19th of March via Plum Cuts Everyman is on track to be the rising South Londoners most accomplished work to date. -Holly Mullineaux
