Treating us to a lo-fi little morsel of guitar-driven goodness, new songwriting duo Rodgers & Jones have presented 'Miss Wave'. Consisting of Dylan Jones and Hannah Rodgers (aka Pixx), the South London-based pair's musical kinship is evident from the offset as their complimentary dual vocals wash over a backdrop of chugging guitar work. Deploying a ticking drum machine beat to keep tempo, the slow burner builds across its almost 5 minute duration. Allowing the lyrics to shine through, the laissez-faire hook 'It's like that sometimes' is matter of fact, much like the uncomplicated nature of the instrumentation. Described as a home demo, 'Miss Wave' is an accomplished sketch that's well and truly pricked our ears. -Holly Mullineaux
