Ralph Heidel is a Berlin-based composer and saxophonist who has teamed up with legendary composer Jun Miyake to release the new single, ‘Wake Up’. It’s a tender cut propelled by warm piano chords that change direction relentlessly, yet force the listen into a hazy, hypnotic loop. His emotive saxophone playing takes this further, reaching an unexpectedly avant-garde freakout in the track’s final moments. On his collaboration with Jun Miyake, he explains: “His compositions inspired me so much, especially his compositions for the female Bulgarian choir and all his tracks he contributed to Pina Bausch's pieces. Writing this chord progression took me quite a while, because I wanted an interesting loop that’s never-ending, which is not easy to find.
