PUMA BLUE TAPESTRY

After a relatively quiet period and a relocation to Atlanta, South London hailing songwriter Jacob Allen (pka Puma Blue) surfaces with his deeply affecting new single 'tapestry'. Imbued with a similar, gut-wrenching intimacy as that of Adrianne Lenker, Elliot Smith or Jeff Buckley's most sorrowful offerings, ghostly vocal effects envelop Allen's intimate delivery. Laid softly over washy nylon-stringed guitar, Allen unpicks the visual prompt of an intricately woven piece of material as a metaphor for life and relationships, explaining: “We lose things, things we think we’ll have forever. It can devastate the fabric of our reality. I wrote this song to someone I lost who taught me a lot, someone I counted on having much more time with. I only recorded ‘tapestry’ as one writes in a journal, without intention to share it with anyone, just a private expression. But with a little nudge from my friends, here I am again, offering my whispers to the wind.” Listen and watch the equally personal self-directed video for 'tapestry' here now as we cross our fingers for more from Puma Blue soon. -Holly Mullineaux
