Manchester-based artist Phoebe Green has released her new single, ‘What Are You Doing’. The track, written and produced in her flat and parents’ house, is as enigmatic and honest as ever. Despite inspiration from the likes of Chappel Roan and St Vincent coming through, her sound remains unique, with a captivating synth-driven sonic landscape providing a bed for her voice, which explodes into life during the track’s huge chorus. ‘What Are You Doing’ “explores the mourning of a pretty toxic relationship, coming to terms with how damaging it was in hindsight, but how thrilling and all-consuming it felt at the time.
