Palm Honey have been making a name for themselves over the last few years for their woozy brand of retro-inspired psychedelia. Lovely as it was, the Reading-based quartet's early works couldn't exactly be described as ground-breaking. However, Palm Honey's new single 'Hot Simian Weather' sees the band stepping out of the haze of their trippy comfort zone and asserting themselves with an impressive electronic indie banger. Lead by a fuzzy analogue synth groove combined with scratchy Franz Ferdinand-esque guitars and a shed load of sleazy swagger, Palm Honey's new direction uncovers some serious potential as ones to watch for 2018.
