Chicago-based artist Morpho has released her new single, ‘Half Of Two’. It’s a track which she describes as being “about finally making peace with endings. Untangling from the past and old stories.” She reflects her lyrics primarily using her deft guitar skill, which has reached a new level on this track, at once summoning soft subtlety and rhythmic clarity. The sonic world she crafts here is atmospheric and warm, with a textured shoegaze feel coming from heavy distortion and tremolo, and a slow, grunge sound emerging during the huge washes of noise that appear during the chorus. Her debut EP, Morpho Season, drops on November 15th, 2024, via Hit The North Records, and she’ll be touring the US for the rest of the year. -Dan Peeke
