MISO EXTRA 2ND FLOOR
An artist that we fell hard and fast for at The Great Escape (2022), Trangressive-signed producer and vocalist Miso Extra has treated us to an empowering new bop, accompanied by a creative cover of Little Dragon's 'Constant Surprises'. Sung over a characteristically jumpy soundscape of warped synths and militant beats, '2nd Floor' is a cathartic, experimental, yet still ridiculously addictive, cut from the rising talent. Tackling a relatable yet painful subject Miso Extra explains: “It’s a song that explores the moment you realize you’re in a toxic relationship and the anguish from realizing your own naivety. There’s hope though in the line in Japanese that states “I don’t need a Prince'' to allude to the idea that I can be my own knight in shining armor to have my happily ever after and not rely on another to be my source of joy.” Riding a horse into the distance clad from head to toe in chainmail feels like a an excellent way to overcome past traumas if you ask us.
