MASTER is the debut album from the 21 year old Atlanta R&B singer Mariah the Scientist. It’s an album about relationships, expectations, toxicity and betrayal. ‘Reminders’ is a song she wrote in a dorm room back in 2017, which is placed in the middle of the 10 track album. It has a retro feel, with tape noises in the intro, an 80s style synth bass and a reverb-saturated snare drum. Her vocals are powerful and the melody is catchy. The gospel-spirited backing vocals add to the grandeur of the track, along with the shiny authentic 80s style of production. - Ellie Rose Davies
