MAN/WOMAN/CHAINSAW THE BOSS

Teenage art-punk posse Man/Woman/Chainsaw slam a foot on the gas with new single ‘The Boss’. The third offering from their highly anticipated debut EP Eazy Peazy, it is the most full throttle. The track recklessly abandons the gracious progression of keys and violin heard in preceding singles ‘Grow A Tongue In Time’ and ‘Ode to Clio’. The track feels like the EP’s piñata thus far; hit it and a glorious surprise will spill out. That comes in the form of blisteringly urgent riffs and quick drum spits, with that aforementioned gentle violin turned on its head to join a fierce synth line. ‘The Boss’ is a cataclysmic upheaval of some of the quainter melodics set out in the EP thus far. It’s heavy, vivacious, and simply delectable. Discussing their inspiration for the track, Man/Woman/Chainsaw have said: “We wanted to express our frustration with imbalanced power dynamics in our everyday lives with a big supermassive rant of a rock song.” Well, we hear you loud and clear, Chainsaw. -Kayla Sandford
