‘heartbreak hotel’ is the title track of Luna Morgenstern’s upcoming EP. It’s a warm track filled with spiralling synths and keyboards, topped by her powerful, airy voice. Like much of her music, this track juxtaposes bouncy dance influences with intimate, biographical lyrics, resulting in a sort of melancholic club sound. On the video that accompanies the track, she says: “At first, I was really stuck on recreating the ‘heartbreak hotel’ I had imagined while writing the record. But I am glad that I let go of that literal translation and trusted Anna with her vision: To travel to Iceland and let the otherworldly landscapes represent the different stages of grief on the record. So we flew all the way to Iceland, travelled the island in a rental car and shot as we went.
