LIV WYNTER VIOLENCE
Dedicated activist and multidisciplinary artist Liv Wynter makes an impactful mission statement with their debut single 'Violence'. Never one to beat around the bush, the powerful offering, produced by long-standing TMR favourite piglet, clobbers its listeners with pent up anger, frustration and ultimately empowerment, culminating in the visceral hook, 'dead name on my ID, so good luck trying to find me'. In their own words "'Violence' explores the feeling of being followed home or targeted due to being visibly trans, queer, or femme." Channeling that fear, and turning its on it on its head with a menacing soundscape consisting of eerie industrial samples and thundering beats, Wynter embraces their threatening side whilst reflecting "both the fury and anguish of existing in Britain under tory and terf ideology". As well as giving a nod to their 10+ years of direct action and taking matters into their own hands, 'Violence' is a raw and inspiring rallying cry for the oppressed, marginalised and frankly fed up. Set to appear on an EP of the same name, it's time to get acquainted with Liv Wynter as they embark on a radical musical journey. -Holly Mullineaux
