LILO CRASH THE CAR

Performing together as lilo since 2022 (and probably before that), childhood friends and musical collaborators Christie Gardner and Helen Dixon return with their unflinching new single 'Crash The Car'. Beginning in hushed tones, a top of gentle acoustic guitar strums, the track's dramatic title serves as a tempting metaphor to act on inner rage. Careering from fragile and vulnerable verses to a viscerally cathartic chorus, 'Crash The Car' exposes a deep love and a fierce protective streak between the pair. The band explain: “It’s about having unbridled rage at a man who has hurt your best friend, a product of being so angry yet feeling isolated on the outside, where your upset builds so much you physically can't hold it in anymore. ‘Crash the Car’ explodes like we wish we could, you want to kick his teeth in so instead you make a song.” Listen here now. -Holly Mullineaux
