Evolving from the ashes of former TMR favourites PALM, Philly experimentalists Kassie Krut boldly re-introduce themselves with 'Reckless'. Literally spelling it out for all to hear, Eve Alpert's distinctive laissez-faire vocals cut to the chase, reciting: 'If you ask me who I wanna be/Im’a spell it out so it’s plain to see/K-A-S-S-I-E K-R-U-T-T-T-T'. The sweetness of Alpert's delivery feels taunting and uncanny, sitting in direct contrast with the chaotic instrumentation as industrial beats clatter viscerally throughout. Beefed up by an uncompromising 808 kick, ominous synthesizers and what can only be described as digitised grinding metal, 'Reckless' feels like a fitting title for a track with very little regard for convention. Now signed to Fire Talk Records, Kassie Krut have our attention and we can't wait to hear more. -Holly Mullineaux
