South London songwriter and producer Joseph Futak releases tender double singles 'Bank Robber Song' and 'This Morning' via My Life Is Big. Stepping back into songwriting alongside his prolific production work with artists such as Tapir!, Lilo, Pushpin and Headboy, Futak offers up two spacious, country-tinged slowcore tracks on which rich vocals, gently strummed guitars, strings and rhythm sections amble steadily surrounded by a warm tape hiss. Here Futak delves into the inception of the tracks; “Writing these songs marked a refreshing change in my approach to my own music - stripping back pretence and focussing on the minute details of what makes us tick, using storytelling and humour to explore this.
