JAX & JZA VS. WYLES & SIMPSON STORMY SKIES

Fresh off the back of a Grammy nod for his production work on Duke Dumont's massive 'I Got U', Jax Jones has returned, collaborating with London DJ and producer JZA to unveil 'Stormy Skies'. Embracing a late-night, deep house hue the pair then called upon the vocal expertise of Wyles & Simpson to add a sultry, honeyed vocal to proceedings; a re-imagining of a song released by the UK duo back in 2015. The result is a heady, brooding cut that drives and pulsates along throughout its seven minutes, only developing organically and effortlessly as growing hat patterns splash and a hypnotic heart-beating bass drops in and out. The build and climax too aren't over the top and even the dance-floor piano moments are nothing more than subtle stabs. It's a deep and devilishly moreish new one from a producer seemingly capable of both mainstream hits and heavy house in equal measure. -G.O'B
