Promo videos don't always hit the mark, but new XL Recordings signings Ibeyi have pulled of a simple, beautiful treatment for their latest pounding cut 'River'. Forced down by a disembodied hand each, French Cuban twins Naomi and Lisa-Kainde Diaz take turns holding their breath underwater, while their sweetly enunciated harmonies - sung in both their native tongue and English - are skewered by creaking beats, plucked strings and natty handclaps. Citing the likes of James Blake and King Krule as key influences, the 19-year-old future stars feel instantly at home on Richard Russell's ever-eclectic roster.
