Brighton-based, Scottish-Thai songwriter Helen Ganya announces her introspective new album with its formative title-track 'Share Your Care'. Sonically eclectic, pairing fuzzed out riffs with bouncy synth bass and South East Asian-inspired melodies, Ganya's masterful touch weaves the seemingly disparate elements together effortlessly. Written after the sad loss of her grandmother, which prompted an extended period of soul searching, Share Your Care sees Ganya tracing back her childhood memories of summers spent in the northeast of Thailand; then wondering what happens to your connection to a place when that person has gone? She explains: “I got my diary and wrote every single memory of my time as a child in Thailand, spending time with her, my grandad, my aunts and cousins and everything. I had these snapshots of memories that I just wrote down because I just suddenly panicked: it was like, who am I, then?”. Using the album as a vehicle to process the existential nature of it all, the result is a unique and deeply personal example of Helen Ganya's impressive musicianship.
