Sounding something like the collision of Joy Division and Morrissey, Gold Class are a crunchingly brilliant prospect. The Melbourne four released their debut LP It's You via Felte Records earlier this year and 'Kids On Fire' comes flying out to give a taste of what's to come. With its Silent Alarm-esque opening and it's rambunctious, kinetic energy, the track drives and pulsates with a dark power, underlined by the relentless bass pedal and Adam Curley's guttural droll. It's a powerful and strangely contagious cut that will appeal to fans of Protomartyr or the sadly no-more Torches, and careful throw-backs to the mid-2000s.
