GATHERING OF STRANGERS CHERRY RED
British quintet Gathering Of Strangers have a distinctive indie-rock sound characterised by nostalgic sounds and inimitably catchy hooks. ‘Cherry Red’ is certainly no exception, hitting us with huge synths and restrained reverb-soaked guitars that jump into life for a bouncy chorus. You can feel the influence of the likes of The Kooks and The Killers, but Gathering Of Strangers have an impressive ability to sound all their own. Frontman Conor Rabone says that the single is a “tale of your love/hate relationship with fear. His charm gets you in the bedroom but her power chains you to the bed. It’s then up to you whether that’s something you want to escape from or not.” The band have an EP planned for release in the coming months. -Dan Peeke
