Norwegian musician, composer and producer Fredrik Svabø has released his debut single, ‘Running’. It’s a unique composition centred on a catchy indie-folk style, but performed by an impressive cast of Norwegian jazz musicians. Timbre-wise, this creates a warm chamber-pop feel propelled forward by its tight live performance. On the track’s lyrical inspiration, he says: “‘Running’ is about those moments in a relationship when you feel doubt, when you’re not sure if you’re staying just because it’s comfortable or if you’re actually right for each other. When you start to look at your loved one in a different way and start following a spiral of bad thoughts. Sometimes there are stars in your eyes, sometimes you just want to give up.” Fredrik Svabø is a live member of AURORA’s live band - keep an eye out for more solo releases from him in 2025. -Dan Peeke
