FOURS TELL ME IN THE MORNING

It’s been a great year for fans of London band FOURS who have released a string of polished pop smashes since the release of ‘Painful To Watch’. Twelve months on and the quartet of best friends are departing from the overtly upbeat and opting for a sound that simmers with intensity, pushing and pulling with layers of dreamy instrumentation. ‘Tell Me In The Morning’ is well-known tale of romantic incompatibility rendered in heart-tugging soundscapes of electronica, anthemic rhythms and lingering guitar melodies. You could call it a lonely slow dance, beautiful in its sadness. It’s yet to be seen whether ‘Tell Me In The Morning’ marks the next chapter for this highly promising band, but it's a brilliant reinvention nonetheless. - HT
