‘I Can’t Wait Until I’m Old’ is the new single from Brighton-based band Flip Top Head. The band possesses a truly unique sound, which is defined on this track by their blend of twisting post-rock guitars, and funereal trombones. The track peaks after a tense four minutes, with a wash of rhythmic stabs, cinematic drum fills and almost operatic vocals courtesy of Bowie Bartlett. They explain that the track “addresses the childlike feelings of wanting to grow up, juxtaposed with elderly outcomes such as shaking hands and back pockets brimming with shopping bags.” The new EP from Flip Top Head, Up Like A Weather Balloon, drops on November 15th, 2024, via Blitzcat Records. -Dan Peeke
