FEAR OF MEN ISLAND
Fear Of Men have revealed their latest piece of delicately beautiful alt. pop in the shape of 'Island', the first single from their second record Fall Forever, out June 3 via Kanine Records. The Brighton outfit meld gently melancholic, fragile melody with driving percussion, jittery synth backing and a whirring, mysterious guitar to create their typically serene hue. Singer Jessica Weiss explains that the song is about "independence and empowerment, and how problematic this can be when you're still tied to the expectations of others." With a run of UK dates over the coming weeks, including a London headline at the Victoria in Dalston on 8 April, Fear Of Men are building up very nicely to the anticipated new full-length. -G.O'B
