The latest single from Emma-Jean Thackray is the impressive Theo Kottis remix of ‘Spectre’. Its a slow-burn track with an instant groove. Jazzy inflecitions and moments of great melody are intertwined with a mastery of house music that twists and turns in a sometimes experimental fashion over six wonderful minutes. "I love hearing my music in different contexts,” she explains. “My original Spectre tune is quite heavy in terms of subject matter, so I was really excited to see if people could resonate with it on the dance floor, like a catharsis through movement. Theo's DJ sets and the music he makes are so easy to move to, he really knows how to take people on a physical journey, so linking up for this remix seemed like a perfect match." This comes after the huge remix from Black Science Orchestra of another great track, ‘Venus’, and before Thackray heads out on tour this summer. -Dan Peeke.
