Colombian-born electronic artist Ela Minus has just inked a deal with Domino Records. Her boldly-titled debut for the label 'they told us it was hard, but they were wrong.' is an affirming concoction of ticking, drum-machine-induced beats and ethereal vocals that act as a guiding light through the thick, smoggy atmosphere. At its most intense, a throbbing 808 kick sound vibrates at the low end of the mix, permeating the dizzying layers of warped and reversed samples as it forces you to move with it.
