DEATHCRASH BIND
London prog peddlers deathcrash were turning heads in the capital with their haunting live shows in the pre-COVID days. Since then the Untitled Recs signings released their subtly reassuring 'People Thought My Windows Were Stars', which gained praise from Matt Wilkinson amongst others. Yesterday, the quartet unveiled their taut new offering 'Bind'. Unsurprisingly stretched out to a leisurely 6 and a half mins, 'Bind' is a masterclass in tension and release. Unshakeably sad yet beautiful, this quintessential slowcore tune is the perfect soundtrack for some soul searching. The band explain: "We like this song because we’ve had it since the start, so there’s a big emotional attachment to it. It’s open ended, but it talks a little about the ways in which we all seem to carry various burdens. We find ourselves wanting to share these feelings and often don’t quite know how to do so as they’re hard to identify. We hide them from ourselves as much as anything.” Listen here now. -Holly Mullineaux
