LA-based artist DAISY WORLD has dropped her latest track, ‘pho & cry’. It’s an emotive track that introduces a subtly complex guitar loop in its opening seconds, before allowing Daisy’s voice to take us on an intimate journey. When the rest of the band joins, the track turns into something distant and floaty; soulful, and almost grungy in its texture. She explains that the track “is my ode to all the sweet 90s grunge pop ballads I grew up singing and swaying to. I wrote this about navigating walking away from something that you know you need to, while acknowledging that you’re going to be really hurting people that are important to you in the process. Pushing yourself to grow while grieving what you’re leaving behind.” DAISY WORLD’s long-awaited debut album, TOOTHPICK, drops on April 26th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
