‘Almost Time To Go’ is the new release from Scottish band Constant Follower. The band are known for their ethereal soundscapes, filled with a sense of introspection and meditation. “One evening, as the sun was setting, I started playing this simple arpeggio on my guitar, and it just felt... ancient… like it had always been,” explains singer and songwriter Stephen McAll. “The stillness of that place, the sense of being away from everything, made me reflect on the moments when we hold on, even when everything around us is telling us to let go.” Musically, he reflects this feeling with simultaneous grandeur and simplicity: soaring strings add a cinematic, otherworldly quality to the track, but the persistent guitar arpeggio feels grounding and close.
