Clear Mortifee has impressed with their latest single, ‘Free Spirit’. The tune is a laid-back R&B pop cut that takes funky twists and turns, placing the emphasis on a melodic vocal display. “’Free Spirit’ is a reflection on defining my adulthood for myself. As I grew up and out of my adolescence, shades of fear and shame crept in, and my vivid imagination started to fade,” Clear explains. “This song is about my self-determination to cultivate authenticity, wisdom, and magic during these in-between years after childhood and before eldership.” Clear Mortifee is an important voice in the trans community, and has an impressive back catalogue, including last month’s ‘M@n Like That’. -Dan Peeke
