‘Sometimes’ is the first new release from Carriers since 2019’s Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself & Everyone Else. The track is a musing on the realities and hardships of a life spent running down a dream, sung over a psychedelic Americana accompaniment that twangs and marches towards an anthemic climax. On his output, Carriers says poignantly: “When I was 19 years old, I looked to the heavens and asked what I should do with my life,” says Kiser. “I sat on my porch in Cincinnati’s Camp Washington neighborhood and proceeded to write one of the first songs I’d ever written on my own. It’s taken a few hundred songs to feel confident in it, but I’m there now.” There should be new Carriers music on the horizon in 2025. -Dan Peeke
