One-of-a-kind composer and musician Carmel Smickersgill has shared a moody visualiser for her comforting new single 'Know You're Loved'. Following the tonally darker 'Build The Habit' last month, 'Know You're Loved' is the second preview of Smickergill's forthcoming EP Unsolicited Advice, set for release on the 16th of May via TMR favourites PRAH Recordings. Moving through numerous satisfying chord changes, masterfully handling tension and release, the danceable piece speaks of an all encompassing desire to protect. Smickersgill explains: “'Know You’re Loved' is a love song for the sake of caring...The narrator isn’t a single person but is the voice of people who care enough to gather round a person, a family or a community when shit really hits the fan. And in the interest of care, I also wrote the bass line for this track with the specific intent of creating something my bass player would enjoy playing.” Sonically and psychologically pure of heart, 'Know You're Loved' is an expectedly impeccable offering from this unique and pioneering talent. -Holly Mullineaux
