Chicago hardcore quartet Buggin release new powerful new single 'Not Yours', taken from their upcoming debut album Concrete Cowboys. The new track is a poignant criticism of the treatment of women and non-binary people in hardcore (and music in general), set to crushing riffs and brutal breakdowns. Whilst huge progress has been made to root out the exclusion of different genders, there is often an inverse effect in which bands with members that are not men become needlessly defined their genders. Vocalist Bryanna Bennett describes the track as "a more personal one about dealing with the tokenization of being seen as a girl in hardcore. I’m non-binary, and I hate being thrown in “female fronted” categories.
