Formerly Kill Beatrix, South East London outfit Beatrix have returned with a bold new opus 'Cranberry Lane'. Lifted from their recently released EP Planet Head, the 10-minute journey fuses heavy metal riffs and Sabbath-esque vocals with jazzy keys and percussive live drums. Glued together with a Tool-y bass line, the socially-minded single comments on global warming and exploitation as a result of capitalism before breaking out into an almighty climax. Inspired by post-rock, psychedelia and prog, 'Cranberry Lane' is the cathartic centrepiece of the band's latest extended offering, and one that's sure to make as much of an impact live.
