The debut single from New York based singer-songwriter Alexander Bradshaw is a huge banger called ‘Old Friends’. The track is centred on a powerful voice and influences from a wide spectrum of styles, from folk, to jazz and blues. Fiddle lines give some interesting countermelodies that contrast Bradshaw’s soulful voice, while choppy guitar chords and the accompanying brass sections give off suggestions of the big band stylings of the likes of Duke Ellington. Bradshaw is currently trying to gather some funding to record his debut EP, while three more equally exciting tunes are due for a release in the coming days- be on the lookout! - Dan Peeke
