Following on from last month's sinister single 'Blessing', Alex G announces a new full length album God Save The Animals and releases another single 'Runner'. The new LP is set for release on September 23rd and will be his 9th album, having just released the soundtrack to upcoming horror film We're All Going To The Worlds Fair. Predictably unpredictable, the two singles are completely different in style and tone but somehow immediately recognisable as Alex G songs, the dark whispered vocals, distorted guitar harmonics and warped synth lines of 'Blessing' are replaced with a more conventional arrangement, and country twinged indie-pop. Acoustic guitar, pianos and organs mix with Alex's mostly sung/occasionally screamed vocals and subtlety strange production, the track comes with a video directed by Aldo Frisk that features Alex playing with his bandmates in almost direct contrast to the Catatonic Youths style 'Blessing' video. -Toby Evans-Jesra
