Adia Victoria has announced her upcoming album, A Southern Gothic, and treated us to a brand new single in the form of ‘Magnolia Blues’. Her music sits somewhere between the classic sound of Southern country music, soulful blues and a modern appreciation for songwriting and pop melody. You can feel the depth of her influences and songwriting ability, as her juxtaposing music runs side by side with her feelings about her hometown of Nashville and the surrounding areas. “This song centres on the narrative of a Black Southern woman’s furious quest to find her way back home to the South under the shade of her Magnolia,” she explains.
