Fom PMR sister label Beat Club emerges a fresh, yet familiar, sound that first made this musical sorority house famous in the first place. Easily comparable to hitmakers SG Lewis, Disclosure, salute and Felix Snow, new name Couros joins the ranks of these popular electronic artists with newest release ‘Breathe A·gain'. It’s notably bolder than past tracks ‘Turning’ and ‘Cold Feet’ which lean more towards a chilled house style, but that doesn’t mean he’s jumping around on stage asking us to put our hands in the air either. It’s classy, it’s smooth and it’s as soulful as ever. The chunky bass beats give us something to sink our teeth into while we swoon to Couros’ breathy vocals, and just so we don’t entirely lose control a sporadic wooden click and brushed high hat keeps everything on a relaxed level. There’s a reason that ‘Breathe A·gain' sounds different from the other tracks destined to be on his forthcoming EP, because it speaks of imperfection and particularly of an imperfect relationship. - HT
