Its been too long since we’ve heard from Toronto singer Charlotte Day Wilson. Her debut EP, CDW received huge acclaim back in 2016, as did her collaborations with Daniel Caesar and BADBADNOTGOOD, landing her some prime syncs on Netflix, Apple and Comedy Central. Fortunately, however, Day Wilson has returned with ‘Doubt’ – the first track from a new EP due to drop in early 2018. It’s an introspective ballad which brings her smoky, soulful vocal back into sharp focus with a huge crescendo into the final chorus: ‘what have I done for your love / I’m selfish and dumb for your love’. It’s intimate, it’s honest and a fine example of every reason we first fell in love with Charlotte Day Wilson. Stay tuned for more music to come early next year. -HM
