The Lemon Twigs are teen brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario, from Long Island, New York. Growing up in a musical family, the pair have supposedly been playing rock n' roll since they were old enough to walk. No surprise then that, with the help of Foxygen's Jonathan Rado behind the desk, 'These Words' feels wonderfully nostalgic, a throw-back beyond their young years. Blending funky bass lines with whirring organs and floating Beatles-esque melody, the siblings create something as whimsically dusty as it is warming and exciting. Nodding to the retro revival, lead by breakout indie champs of the year Whitney (also a Rado production), The Lemon Twigs are another set of youngsters bringing the boogie back and it's entirely welcome.
