DEEP TAN AIR
The debut single from London newcomers Deep Tan is an indie tune full of dense guitar work, heavy basslines and angular rhythms that give off a sense of complexity and maturity that transcends much of the genre. Influence from FOALS and The Cure is found in equal measure throughout the bilingual ‘Air’, though the female 3-piece have found their own fans through playing alongside Claw Marks, Sweat and Strange Cages to name a few. Of the tune, the band themselves say that ‘Air’ "is a song about deception. The song is about islanders who lie about being able to swim, and they’re a metaphor for people who lie generally. They pretend they can swim, but they can’t. It’s meaningless. It’s just... ‘Air'". -Dan Peeke
