The boys in Blaenavon have been together for longer than this blog has even existed, and they're still as fresh-faced as ever, having only just left college this summer. God, that makes us feel old. Anyway, things are really falling into place for the band; after a slew of demos and singles, heavyweight indie Transgressive (Foals, Gengahr) have announced the release of their latest EP, Miss World, along with a hefty support slot with Songhoy Blues starting next month. 'Hell Is My Head' is the first cut from the record - a startling indie rock centrepiece driven along by jagged, streaking guitar and earsplitting drums, it showcases a darker tone to their lyricism which jars beautifully with the anthemic melodies at play. Miss World is out 30th October. - DC
