BIG FUSS MARS
Bristol bedroom jazz musician/producer Big Fuss releases a cut-up, improvised new track ‘Mars’ from his Mars/Venus EP. Built from spliced together phone recordings and overdubbed with drums, bass and clarinet, the A-side of this EP is distinctly lo-fi in it’s presentation. It starts it’s 7 minute duration loose with drums paired with subtle but atmospheric electronics eventually settling into an uneasy bass and clarinet groove that sounds like it could easily have been heard coming out of a This Heat rehearsal. Be sure to check out Big Fuss’ other projects; he’s a member of improv group Iceman Furniss Quartet and Improv’s Greatest Hits- a Bristol based label/collective of musicians dedicated to mixing musical scenes through improvisation. -Toby Evans-Jesra
