Along the same lines as Yellow Days, Aldous RH, Niall.G and Liss, the Oslo-based Jakob Ogawa throws his hat into the lo-fi funk ring with first single ‘All Your Love’. In rivalry to the pop and rock worlds that many teen musicians find themselves all too easily falling into, this 19-year-old expresses a relaxed maturity towards making music through his laid-back, falsetto-ed vocals and loosely, elasticated strings. He also surpasses age restrictions with his words of longing. The simple, but poignant, refrain “I want to know your love” is highly relatable whether you’re a shy school kid with a crush, an introverted adult, or simply dealing with the age-old issue of unrequited love. The vagueness of Ogawa’s intentions in ‘All Your Love’ open up a world of possibilities that ache with the potential romance of this song’s reverberated, slow-dance melodies. - HT
